FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Can I apply for the one Italia Conti course and be considered for the other Italia Conti courses at the same time?
When you apply for either the BA (Hons) Acting Programme or the CertHE Introduction to Acting Programme you are automatically considered for both. However should you wish to be considered for the BA (Hons) Musical Theatre Programme or other performing arts courses, you will need to apply and pay for these separately, as the Musical Theatre/Performing Arts auditions operate differently from the Acting department auditions.
Where are the auditions held?
Auditions for the BA (Hons) Acting Programme and CertHE Introduction to Acting Programme primarily operate their auditions at the Avondale campus (Clapham North) in London, although we do also run regional audition days in Manchester and Cardiff. When you complete the audition registration form on our website (following your initial UCAS application and the email from the University of East London with instructions), you are able to select a preferred audition location; although we take this into consideration, we are unable to guarantee an audition at these locations and you may still be required to attend a London audition.
How do I apply/audition for the BA (Hons) Acting Programme and/or CertHE Introduction to Acting Programme?
To apply to either of these programmes, you will first need to make your application through UCAS using the appropriate codes, E28 (University of East London) and W410 (BA Acting) or W411 (CertHE Intro to Acting). Once the university has received your UCAS application form you will receive an email from UEL with further instructions and will need to complete an online audition registration form, including payment of the audition fee (£45). On successful completion of this form, we will begin the process of assigning you to an audition day and will send you an invitation by email along with a pack of information. Please note that due to the number of applicants we receive each year, it is not unusual for a couple of months to pass from you completing the audition registration form and receiving your audition invitation, should you be concerned about whether we have you on the system, please email us: email@example.com and we would be happy to confirm your information. At the audition, you will be considered for both of our acting programmes.
I have used all my UCAS ‘slots’ for other universities/courses, am I still able to apply/audition for the BA (Hons) Acting Programme and/or CertHE Introduction to Acting Programme?
Unfortunately we are unable to offer you an audition without you completing our full application process: Apply through UCAS > Receive email from UEL > Complete online audition registration, including payment. Please see ‘How do I apply/audition for the BA (Hons) Acting Programme and/or CertHE Introduction to Acting Programme?’ for more information.
What is the difference between the BA (Hons) Acting Programme and CertHE Introduction to Acting Programme?
The BA (Hons) Acting Programme is 3 year a professional actor training, where as our CertHE Introduction to Acting Programme is a 1 year preparation training. Information on each of these courses can be found on the relevant pages on this website.
Who validates, accredits and monitors the acting programmes?
The BA (Hons) Acting Programme and CertHE Introduction to Acting Programme are validated by the University of East London. We are accredited by the Federation of Drama Schools (previously Drama UK) and CDDMT. Italia Conti are reviewed by the government’s Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education.

What are the Entry and Qualification Requirements?

If I don't have the minimum Academic/Qualifications, can I still be considered for the BA/CertHE?
Prospective students who do not or will not meet the qualification requirements of the programme may still apply and will be considered for entry to both the BA (Hons) Acting and CertHE Introduction to Acting programmes. When applying applicants must make the appropriate selection requesting to be considered for Non-Standard Entry to the programme. As part of the audition and post-audition the academy will make an assessment as to whether the applicant has sufficient experience and proven ability to be able to undertake the academic and vocational elements of the HE programme. Additional tasks may be requested by the Academy of the applicant in order to assess the individual further. A conditional offer may be made to students who have successfully completed the audition and are awaiting progression through the NSE process. The decision to approve or reject NSE entry is made on a case by case basis in discussions with Head of Departments and signed off by the relevant Programme Director. Any conditional offer made will either be upheld or rescinded as per the NSE decision. As per the Audition Code of Practice, no appeal can be made on the grounds of disagreement with the academic judgement of the Academic and Management teams.
Does Italia Conti Acting Department hold Open Days?
Due to the high level of interest and nature of our BA acting training, we are unable to offer an open day for either the BA Acting or CertHE programme. Prospective students will get the opportunity to see the Academy, meet students and staff and ask questions on the day of your audition. For full details on our Open Days for the Musical Theatre courses, please visit www.italiaconti.com.

Does Italia Conti Academy's Acting School offer part-time, short or weekend courses?
No. We only run two full-time courses here at the Avondale Campus in Clapham: The three year BA (Hons) Acting Programme, and the one year Certificate in Higher Education Introduction to Acting Programme. We are in the process of creating short courses that run over the Easter and Summer holidays - check back soon.
What are the fees for the courses?
Fees are set by the University of Easy London. Students from the EU, England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Channel Islands pay £9’250 per year. Government funding is available if the individual meets their requirements. International students pay £11’880 per year. Full information on fees and funding can be found on the 'Fees & Funding' page.
Does Italia Conti Academy offer Scholarships or Bursaries?
No, however in the 2nd year on the BA (Hons) Acting programme, students are able to apply to three different bursaries on offer.
I am a foreign student from outside of Europe who wants to train at Italia Conti. What steps do I take?
Before applying please ensure that you have or will have the 'right to study' on an HE programme in the UK. Proof of this may be required at any and all stages of the application, audition and acceptance process. If you aren’t able to get to fly to London for an audition, you are able to request a DVD audition (details of these will be emailed to you). The audition panel will then watch your submission and a decision will be made. You will either receive an unsuccessful email, or an email asking for you to come to audition for us in person here in London as we believe you may be right for one of our courses. The academy cannot be held responsible for offers that may be rescinded on the basis of not having 'right to study' on any of our programmes.
